Acoustic ukulele

I started out making acoustic instruments and on a good day, there is nothing better than stringing up for the first time 26 sticks of wood accurately glued together!

I build to a set a simple principles:
  • Clean lines
  • Precise construction
  • Attention to detail
Every time I pick up a tool I am solving the problem of choreographying this ballet in wood. Most times, I chose highly prized wood - curly koa and mahogany mainly and put these into simple yet strong designs. All along the way I am trying to allow the wood to do the talking though I am not averse to a bit of 'bling' every now and then. I'm also an arch traditionalist so apart from the bolt on neck joint there is no carbon fibre or fancy fanbracing, sound ports or any such mojo in my work.
